Advanced degrees in statistics
The Department of Statistics offers a master’s degree and Ph.D. in statistics. If you are passionate about data and want to be at the forefront of solving complex problems, an advanced degree in statistics will give you skills to work in a variety of rewarding careers.
Master of Science (M.S.)
The Master of Science in Statistics (M.S.) at USC provides broad coverage of statistical theory and application, with the flexibility to address your specific interests. Graduates go on to additional education or pursue careers in government, business or industry.
Doctorate (Ph.D.)
The Doctor of Philosophy in Statistics (Ph.D.) prepares graduates to become statistical researchers or university faculty members. The program is suitable for students entering with a bachelor's or master's degree, with or without previous statistical training.
JANUARY 15 FOR FUNDING
Applicants who wish to be considered for financial support should have their applications completed by January 15. Applications received through March 1 will be considered for financial support if funds are available.
