Statistics has applications in everything from manufacturing design to marketing or
education. Not only that, it's consistently rated as one of the best jobs by numerous
publications due to the high demand for statisticians, good working conditions and
high salaries.
We offer both undergraduate majors and minors . Our general major is perfect for anyone who wishes to pursue a career in statistics
and our major with emphasis in actuarial mathematics and statistics is designed for students planning
a career as an actuary. Our m inor is a good complement to any health, business or marketing major.
In addition to our on-campus master's and Ph.D. programs , we also offer distance learning options for our Certificate of Applied Statistics and a Masters of Applied Statistics .
Our faculty are engaged in research in a wide range of areas. We encourage all our students, including undergraduates,
to participate in research.
Our department also runs the Stat Lab , a statistical research and analysis service for others on campus and in the broader
community.
