Bio: Zoie Horecny is from Chapin, South Carolina and graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2018 with a B.A. in History with Distinction and a minor in Southern Studies. Horecny is currently pursuing a PhD in United States History to 1877 and an M.A. in Public History under the advisement of Dr. Mark Smith. Horecny has interest in intellectual, Atlantic, and environmental history. In 2019 she participated as a speaker in McKissick Museum's "Lunch and Learn" Program and as a keynote speaker at the South Carolina State Museum discussing enslaved agency and resistance in South Carolina, particularly the midlands and upcountry. She is also a docent at the South Carolina State Museum. She also enjoys spending time with her dog, Buoy.
