Davis and Huang papers receive Lovingood prize

Publications earn geography grads award

The Paul Lovingood Graduate Research Award ($500) is awarded annually to recognize outstanding peer-reviewed papers authored or co-authored by graduate students in geography. This year’s recipients are Eleanor Davis and Xiao Huang. Ellie’s paper entitled “Comparing Sentinel-2 MSI and Landsat 8 OLI in Soil Salinity Detection: A cCse Study of Agricultural Lands in Coastal North Carolina” was published in the International Journal of Remote Sensing. Xiao’s paper entitled “Reconstructing Flood Inundation Probability by Enhancing Near Real-time Imagery with Real-time Gauges and Tweets” was published in IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing.
