Geography Ph.D. student receives awards for dissertation research

The department would like to recognize doctoral candidate Holly Smith for the awards she received for her dissertation research this year. From the University of South Carolina, Holly was awarded the Bennett S. Masaschi Graduate Award for research; the Walker Institute of International Studies CENY Walker Award for graduate travel; and the Rhude M. Patterson Graduate Fellowship Grant. Holly also received a travel grant from the Association of American Geographers Middle East Specialty Group to present her research at the annual AAG conference in April.
