Bio: Career focus has been applied research in the implementation and integration of international management systems and sustainable development plans within various types of national and international organizations, including, government agencies, and manufacturing and health care facilities. Twice named a Fulbright Scholar to Morocco: 2008-09 and 2015-16. In 2018 was placed on the Fulbright Specialist Roster through recommendation by the Fulbright Specialist Peer Review Panel. Since 1999 has been an auditor of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) management system standards. Co-founded, the International Sustainability Management Education (ISME) Network with a professor from the University of Siegen, Germany in 2002, and established the Environmental Management Systems Program in 1996.
International Sustainability Management Education (ISME) Network: The ISME network is a virtual global organization that creates the needed direction and motivation to build education and research programs to assist individuals in better understanding global sustainability and their role in promoting and supporting sustainability principles in their organization. The growth of sustainability requires entrepreneurial thinking and innovation using the systematic management approach in developing and growing viable enterprises that continually create needed services and technologies for a sustainable economic development.
Environmental Management Systems (EMS Program): Through the implementation of an Environmental Management System (EMS), managers can better assess the effect of the organization’s environmental impacts on operational performance, the natural environment, and society. Using EMS models, based on the Plan-Do-Check-Act for continual improvement in environmental performance, EMS Program students and faculty work with managers to develop an integrated management systems approach to optimize the efficient use of the organization's resources in meeting performance goals
