The USC Salkehatchie Leadership Institute (SLI) was established to promote economic development in rural areas by developing leadership capacity at all levels of our community.
ALLENDALE CAMPUS CLOSURE: USC Salkehatchie's Allendale campus will be closed on Thursday, November 21 due to scheduled waterline maintenance by the Town of Allendale. As a result, all Allendale campus, in-person classes on both Wednesday, November 20 and Thursday, November 21 will be canceled. Online courses will continue as scheduled. Professors for in-person, on-campus classes will notify students of alternative class assignments. The Walterboro campus will remain open, and classes on that campus will meet as planned. USC Salkehatchie apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciates your understanding.
USC Salkehatchie welcomes people from the local community and surrounding areas. Our campuses in Allendale and Walterboro are part of the community landscape, and we love our place here in the beautiful South Carolina Lowcountry.

The USC Salkehatchie Library hosts an exhibit on an archaeological site that suggests that humans may have been in the Americas around 50,000 years ago. The exhibit at USC Salkehatchie is the first permanent display of artifacts from the Topper Site.
The Carolina Theatre, which was completely renovated and reopened in September 2013, is an arts venue owned by USC Salkehatchie and managed by Leadership Institute staff.
The USC Salkehatchie Community Garden is a communal effort to improve the health and well-being of our campus.
