ALLENDALE CAMPUS CLOSURE: USC Salkehatchie's Allendale campus will be closed on Thursday, November 21 due to scheduled waterline maintenance by the Town of Allendale. As a result, all Allendale campus, in-person classes on both Wednesday, November 20 and Thursday, November 21 will be canceled. Online courses will continue as scheduled. Professors for in-person, on-campus classes will notify students of alternative class assignments. The Walterboro campus will remain open, and classes on that campus will meet as planned. USC Salkehatchie apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciates your understanding.

Salkehatchie STEM

A science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) degree puts you at the forefront of solving the complex problems our world faces today. Skills attained through STEM education include problem solving, critical thinking, creativity, curiosity, decision making, leadership, entrepreneurship and more. With a STEM degree, you’ll be prepared for many high-paying career opportunities after college.

Scholarships and Incentives

STEM scholarships are available for eligible students majoring in approved science, technology, engineering or math fields. Additionally, students have the opportunity to represent the USC Salkehatchie STEM program in our community through our paid ambassador program.

Opportunities

The University of South Carolina Salkehatchie STEM Program partners with Savannah River Reuse Organization, Savannah River Nuclear Solutions and Department of Energy  throught the WORC grant to provide scholarships and paid internal internships as well as paid  external internships to students enrolled at our campus. These grant funds also support STEM professors and provide STEM outreach.

Coming Soon - USC Salkehatchie STEM Bus

The Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Environmental Management (EM) Community Capacity Building Grant Program (CCBGP) Funding Opportunity has awarded $1,978,646 to USC Salkehatchie for a STEM bus to serve our local schools and communities in Allendale, Bamberg, Barnwell, Colleton and Hampton counties.

The bus will make visits to schools, educating students about clean energy solutions while incorporating science and math standards.  The STEM bus will also participate in community events.
