Reserve Space

The Russell House offers a variety of spaces for your organization or department to reserve. Host a quick planning meeting, pop in for your weekly reservation or even plan a banquet with our Event Services teams. Many of our rooms can be customized; all you need to do is indicate your space needs when making your reservation.

For Student Organizations

The process begins with the Russell House Space Lottery. 

  1. Log in to 25 Live with your organization’s network ID (that’s your email without the @mailbox.sc.edu) and password. 
  2. Look for the ‘Create an Event’ button in the middle of the screen. Fill out the web form completely and click 'save'.
  3. We review each request and will get back to you within three business days. If you need to make a change to your request or have any questions in the meantime, you may contact the Russell House Event Services Office at sareserv@mailbox.sc.edu or call 803-777-7127.

 

For University Departments

The process begins the day following the Russell House Space Lottery.

  1. Log in to 25 Live with your UofSC network ID (that’s your email without the @mailbox.sc.edu) and password. 
  2. Look for the ‘Create an Event’ button in the middle of the screen. Fill out the web form completely and click 'save'. If you do not see the ‘Create an Event’ button, please contact Russell House Event Services Office at sareserv@mailbox.sc.edu or call 803-777-7127 so we may walk you through the process of getting an authorized requestor account.
  3. We review each request and will get back to you within three business days. If you need to make a change to your request or have any questions in the meantime, you may contact the Russell House Event Services Office using the aforementioned contact information. 

 

Changing or Canceling a Reservation

Once an event is requested, only the Event Services office may edit that request. If you need to make any changes or cancel an event, please let us know.

The Student Organization Space Lottery is held once each semester. It is the first opportunity for registered student organizations to request Russell House space for the upcoming semester. Please keep the following information in mind as your organization prepares for the space lottery:

  • Two Week Process: Student organizations are given two weeks of exclusive access to secure space in the Russell House for the upcoming semester. During the first week, students attend assigned appointment times to book space in person with the Event Services office. Following the last appointment, student organizations may book space via 25Live for an additional week before we allow departments to request space.
  • Online Registration: The Russell House utilizes Garnet Gate during open registration periods. Student organizations must register in advance to be provided with an appointment time to secure space during the first week of the lottery. During this process, student organizations can register to book up to three large events and three small events for the upcoming semester.
  • Appointment Process: Student organizations are assigned 1 - 3 appointment times based on the number of events listed on the registration form. At each appointment, organizations can book a single large event and a single small event for the upcoming semester ONLY. No requests for the current semester or academic space will be accepted during these meetings.
  • Open Request Process: Following the last appointment, student organizations are then allowed to request Russell House space via 25Live for the current semester as well as upcoming semester.
  • Use of University Facilities

Requests for academic space will not be accepted during the lottery. Requests for the current semester will still be accepted via 25Live after the lottery. For more information contact Russell House Event Services at 803-777-8182 or stop by Russell House Suite 218.
