Current Creative Projects

I write in a variety of genres, mostly poetry and creative nonfiction, and also fiction, drama, and narratives for children. The majority of my work focuses on personal narrative that explores the effects of schism on the psyche, including generational, geographic, and familial divisions. I seek to explode the silence that can erupt after trauma, both in the independent and collective body, and to explore how we survive and heal. I perform acts of deep observation and try to make music out of the connections I find. Manuscripts currently in revision include a poetry and essay collection, and book-length memoirs about working in the London theatre during Margaret Thatcher’s premiership and about my experience with in vitro fertilization. I also hold certificates in Counseling Psychology and Advanced Yoga Studies, two areas of central interest that inform my work both on paper and in the classroom.

Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
