Biography:
I’m a first-year MA student. I grew up in Irmo, SC, and after graduating I got my TEFL certificate and moved abroad to teach English. Since returning, I worked in a non-profit as an afterschool youth programs facilitator for newly arrived refugee students aiming to provide additional, engaging instruction and to ease the transition into the American public school system. Then I worked as a book buyer for a small gift store. My primary interest is how literature and can best serve English language learning students in the humanities classroom, but I also enjoy contemporary fiction, sci-fi and monster stories. Off campus, I enjoy eclectic music, bookstores, hiking, and spending time with my dog, Florence.
