Eligibility
To be considered, you must meet these minimum requirements:
- Be an undergraduate student at the University of South Carolina – Columbia
- Have completed one semester at the University of South Carolina - Columbia by your start date
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
- Have a desire to help your fellow students with their personal finances
Job Responsibilities
- Lead 1-on-1 appointments (Money Management Consultations) with students to promote positive financial behaviors
- Assist with money management outreach events, including but not limited to America Saves Week, Money $mart Week, Healthy Carolina Farmers Market, and Study Abroad Fairs
- Maintain confidential student records
- Attend and participate in all required trainings & biweekly staff meetings, including the SSC Peer Leader training cohort during the first semester of employment
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Coordinator of Financial Literacy
Breakdown of Hours
- Work a minimum of 10 hours per week
- 8 - 10 hours: Money Management Consultations
- 1 hour: cohort (first time peer leaders only)
- 1 hour: biweekly staff meeting
