New Patients

All new incoming allergy patients should start the process by contacting the Allergy, Immunization and Travel (AIT) department. The AIT staff will explain our services, facilitate the approval process through your off-campus allergist and collaborate with a Student Health primary care physician for approval to receive your injections on campus.  

This process must be completed prior to the administration of any allergy injections.  You will then be scheduled for an Allergy Injection Initial Visit in which you will receive your injections.

 

First Doses

We do not administer first dose allergy injections when starting immunotherapy treatment. Your first dose must be given at your allergist's office.

 

Bring In Your Own Serum

You must bring in your own allergy serum, which must be mixed and prescribed by your allergist. 

• If you are mailing allergy serum to our office, delivery days are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., our mailing address is Center for Health and Wellbeing 1401 Devine Street Columbia, SC 29208. 
• If you are mailing medication other than allergy serum to our office, you must stop by our office and sign a consent for medication storage.  Delivery days for medication are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., and our mailing address is 
  Center for Health and Wellbeing 
  1401 Devine Street 
  Columbia, SC 29208. 

You must wait in the office 30 minutes after your allergy shots.

 

Cost

We charge a fee for this service, our office will courtesy file insurance, but we are not in network with insurance companies. Call 803-777-3174 for information about fees based on your allergy shot schedule.
