Research and Teaching Interests

Brooks Yelton's primary work focuses on racial and ethnic health disparities, social determinants of health, and community-engaged and community based participatory research for co-developing effective prevention messaging and education initiatives. Her research interests include health and mental health literacy, environmental justice, social justice, stigma and psychosocial barriers to health screening and treatment, and cultural agility and intercultural competency in public health practice.
