Robert W. Foster, Sr.

 

Robert Foster was born in 1926. He presided as Dean of the University of South Carolina School of
Law from 1970–1976. During his career, he was also a Professor at the University of South Carolina
School of Law from 1962–1991 and awarded Distinguished Professor Emeritus at the University of
South Carolina in the years 1991–2015.

Foster received his Bachelors of Science from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in 1948. He then
attended the University of South Carolina School of Law where he earned his LL.B. in 1950. He went
on to complete his education at Duke University where he earned an LL.M. in 1967.
