John E. Montgomery

 

John E. Montgomery was born in 1941 and presided as the Dean of the University of South Carolina School of Law from 1987–2003. Prior to becoming Dean, he was  Assistant, Associate,and  Professor of Law at the University of South Carolina School of Law from 1971–1979. He also was Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Professor of Law at the University of South Carolina School of Law from 1979–1987. He later stepped down to Professor from 2003–2007. Montgomery has been Dean Emeritus and Professor of Law Emeritus at the University of South Carolina since 2008.

Montgomery received his B.Ch.E. at the University of Louisville in 1964. He then attended the University of Louisville, where he graduated with honors in 1969. Montgomery finished his law degree at the University of Michigan in 1971.
