Church and Trees

A white church in the distance is viewed from across a green field. There is a grouping of trees on the right side of the composition. The painting is in a wooden frame and signed by the artist.

Painted by Jim Harrison, a renowned South Carolina artist best known for his work in classic American landscapes and advertisement work with Coca-Cola. Harrison entered into a licensing agreement with Coca-Cola over five decades ago. Hammer Galleries of New York describes him as “the country’s leading Twentieth Century advertising artist.” His work is sold through his own gallery, Jim Harrison Prints, in Denmark, S.C.

Piece is on loan from the McKissick Museum.

Located in the Clinics Room, 354B.
