MSW students specialize in one of three areas of specialization during their advanced year (Year 2) of study (Children, Youth & Families; Health and Mental Health; or Community, Social & Economic Development). The College of Social Work also administers certificate programs which can be completed in conjunction with another graduate degree or as a stand-alone program (Social and Behavioral Health with Military Members, Veterans and Military Families; Drug and Addiction Studies). |

I am endlessly grateful to the combination program for granting me the ability to combine knowledge of the law with knowledge of common systemic challenges and individualized interventions for children and families. Intertwining these two has resulted in my ability to effectively advocate with a deep understanding of how best to make a positive and lasting impact for at-risk populations at the policy level.
USC’s JD/MBA program is a lot of hard work, but it’s fun work. I'm excited for the
way it has prepared me to lead in law and in business, and I would go back and do
this particular degree again a hundred times over. I have entrepreneurial experience
from running my own businesses – some funded from money won in MBA competitions –
and corporate law experience through networking and summer associateships at the law
school. Many of those experiences never would have happened if I hadn’t been a combination-degree
JD/MBA candidate here at Carolina.
