We're dedicated to encouraging an interdisciplinary study of world affairs and a cross-cultural
Our institute is home to six undergraduate minors that explore world cultures, histories,
languages and politics in depth. We also offer
scholarships and funding for both graduate and undergraduate research and travel.
Our work isn't just for the college community. We host conferences and events that
are open to the public, including our annual Taiwan Conference that we've hosted since

publications and our two academic journals "Governance" and "French Historical Studies." We also receive outside funding and
even won a $5,000,000 grant for the Rule of Law Collaborate in 2014.
Our faculty associates are an interdisciplinary group from around the University of
South Carolina campus. We conduct vigorous research and teach courses for our undergraduate
minors, which won us the
Nikolai Khaladjan Award for Innovation in International Education in 2007.

The AACS is an interdisciplinary association devoted to the study of China, Taiwan and the Chinese diaspora. Membership in AACS
is required for participation in the annual conference, and non-members are welcome
to join the Association and participate in the annual conference.
