Spotlights
Agnes Mueller Ph.D.

We at the Walker Institute are proud to present our first faculty spotlight, a series told through visual stories that feature our faculty associates’ excellence in research and the well-deserved recognition they receive.
We are thrilled to share the news that Walker Faculty Associate Dr. Agnes Muller was selected as a laureate for the coveted and extraordinarily prestigious Berlin Prize of the American Academy in Berlin, an important hub “dedicated to sustaining and enhancing the long-term intellectual, cultural, and political ties between the United States and Germany,” for her project entitled “Holocaust Migration: The Future of Memory.” Dr. Mueller is Carol Kahn Strauss Fellow in Jewish Studies and Professor of German and Comparative Literature. Dr. Mueller was one of 12 Fellows selected from a pool of 240 candidates. While most of the Fellows are scholars, several artists join each year’s cohort. Fellows reside near a Villa on Lake Wannsee, where they benefit from a range of rich programming. For each Fellow, the Academy hosts a formal dinner with dignitaries from government, academia, and journalism, followed by public lecture by the Fellow.
