Salon des Refusés: March 2nd - March 22nd, 2019
Each year, art that gets rejected from the Annual Juried Student Exhibition is exhibited in a group show named after the French Salon des Refusés, the “exhibition of rejects,” originally a series of exhibitions consisting of art works that were rejected from
official display in the annual Paris Salon beginning in 1863.
64th Annual Juried Student Exhibition: March 6th- March 21st, 2019
McMaster Gallery (the Gallery at SVAD)
In this annual juried exhibition, now entering its 64th year, we showcase the work
of undergraduate and graduate students of the School of Visual Arts and Design. Students
are awarded cash prizes for Best In Show; 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place Undergraduate Awards;
and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place Graduate Awards.
64th Annual Art Auction: Thursday, March 28th, 2019. One night only!
Koger Center for the Arts, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Our annual art auction raises funds for student awards, scholarships, gallery operations, as well as going
directly back to the artists who submit work to the auction. The auction solicits
artwork from students, faculty, and area artists. This popular event is a great way
to start or grow an original fine art collection, all while giving back to the artists!
Art+Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon: Saturday, March 30th, 2019

The School of Visual Art and Design will host an Art+Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon on Saturday, March 30th at the Columbia Museum of Art from 11pm- 5pm. This all-day event is designed to improve coverage of gender, feminism,
and the arts on Wikipedia. Followed by the Women Making Art Symposium at 3:30 pm.
