Katina Hope Eckert is a visual artist whose practice surrounds making spontaneous, automatic drawings on traditional and found 2D surfaces alike.
In the studio, she creates as a storyteller, investigating heavy themes of capitalism, consumption, identity, trauma, technology, womanhood, politics, and beyond. Armed with her own personal visual language — a frantic, anxiety-driven symbology of energetic characters and bold, unapologetic texts — Eckert’s minimally-colored images possess a vulnerable, overstimulating quality, loudly attesting to how she sees, synthesizes, & digests the world around her (or, alternatively, how it consumes her).
