The purpose of the Art History Club is to promote an interest in all things art and art history. We want to facilitate the discussion of art historical topics, plan community involvement projects, provide research and study help for art history students, invite guest speakers for lectures, and coordinate trips to museums, galleries, and academic conferences.
The club is open to all majors and there are no dues or fees.

Avant Grads provides an interface for graduate students to meet, converse, and attend events for the advocacy of visual art and art programming at the University of South Carolina. We encourage a community through an appreciation of the arts. Our club, which meets on a monthly basis, allows members to participate in trips to museums, art conferences, art walks, gallery openings, and much more. We also have regular group activities to foster our community of grad students. To raise club funds we hold events such as Open Studios as well as participate in SVAD's Annual Holiday Art Sale. We encourage members to attend a majority of the meetings we hold, in order to stay up to date on club activities and discussion.
Avant Grads is open to individuals from all disciplines. In order to be a member an individual must be enrolled in a graduate program at the University of South Carolina. Any UofSC graduate student may be a member and participate in club activities.
Meeting times and locations are subject to change on a month to month basis. If you're interested in joining us, please reach out to us on social media or by emailing the current club President to find out when the next meeting or event is.
