The School of Visual Art and Design will be organizing its second annual DEIA (Diversity,
Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility) charrette from Tuesday March 14, 2023 at 9 a.m.
to Thursday March 16, 2023 at 4 p.m.
A charrette is a days-long period of intense creative research, production, exhibition,
and learning/teaching centered around a specific topic, issue, conflict, or problem.
All students involved in any-and-all SVAD courses are invited to form groups (even
groups of one) to develop artworks, essays, presentation materials, exhibitions, and/or
other work which pertains to the charrette prompt. This prompt will be announced in
the days leading up to the event to encourage spontaneity.
Mark your calendars, think about collaborators, and get ready for a great event.
If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact the SVAD DEI Committee.
