The USC School Psychology Program is outstanding with a focus on cutting-edge training of psychologists for academic and scholarly careers along with excellent clinical training. The USC School Psychology program only trains graduate students at the doctoral level, which allows faculty to work closely with students to pursue their individual interests and perform at a very high caliber. USC School Psychology program faculty are quite accomplished with a high degree of success obtaining grants (nearly $15 million awarded in the past 10 years) and publishing with most papers including student authors. In the past 2 years, faculty have published an average of 11 papers a year with 60% of these papers including a student author. Faculty in the USC School Psychology program focus on high impact research themes including evidence-based school mental health programs, positive child well-being, cultural competence, and neuropsychological and literacy assessment and intervention. The School Psychology Program in the College of Arts & Science at the University of South Carolina is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA)'s Commission on Accreditation* and approved by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) through a partnership with the National Council on Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). It was the third School Psychology Graduate Program in the United States to receive APA accreditation (1974). The last APA site visit was in 2015. The next one will be in 2022.
