Bio

Abigail Hassett is a Ph.D. Candidate in Political Science at the University of South Carolina. Her research defines and quantifies the role of ambition in legal careers, particularly as this complex characteristic influences an individual's nomination and confirmation to the U.S. federal courts. Her corollary interests also include personality as an influencing factor for judicial decision-making, elite legal networks, and the intersectionality of gender, race, and class in this sphere. She received her B.A. in Political Science and Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies from Stetson University in 2019.
