In January, Prof. Doug Thompson traveled to Paris to give a public lecture at the
Atelier Montaigne, an international, group of scholars that meets quarterly in France and Italy. The lecture, titled "Construire un avenir commun en période de conflit: Les conseils politiques de Montaigne,"
was hosted by the University of Chicago Center in Paris and marked the publication of
Prof. Thompson's book, Montaigne and the Tolerance of Politics (Oxford University Press, 2018).
