The University of South Carolina invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in theoretical physics in the Department of Physics and Astronomy to begin August 16, 2019. A PhD and postdoctoral experience in theoretical physics are required with expertise in particle physics, astrophysics, or cosmology.
The successful candidate will be expected to establish an internationally competitive research program as well as to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in physics and astronomy. We expect this individual will collaborate with theoretical and experimental colleagues in astronomy and astroparticle, nuclear, and high-energy physics. A record in attracting funding for research and/or teaching efforts will be beneficial.
