Training Description | During this first session of the "Noontime Knowledge Speaker Series: Children with Disabilities" attendees will learn about the range of services available in South Carolina including early intervention, special education, mental health support and healthcare resources. Critical legal frameworks will be reviewed including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), and a range of South Carolina specific laws governing disabilities services and child welfare. Finally, attendees will learn how to access and connect children and families to local organizations that offer support, including therapy, advocacy, and more. |
