Students will attend the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) campus in Brisbane along with approximately 40,000 students including 6,700 international students from over 90 countries.

This city offers an affordable lifestyle where year-round weather is fabulous and outdoors living is healthy. People from many cultures enjoy a diverse range of dining alternatives as well as a thriving arts and cultural scene.

Brisbane is one of Australia's most affordable capital cities, catering for a diverse range of lifestyles and can easily be enjoyed even on a student budget. Living costs will vary depending on the type of accommodation you choose, the number of people you live with, and the area you live in. QUT recommends that students prepare to budget approximately $2,500AUD during the first weeks in Brisbane to get set-up in accommodation, stock up on food and organise transport card. After that, students can budget for approximately $500 a week for rent, food, transport, utility bills and entertainment. Remember that the cost of living in Australia may be higher than SC, so utilize online cost comparison tools like Numbeo to estimate the average cost of goods.

Students must enroll in a minimum of 48 credits (12 U.S. credits) per semester. Most courses are worth 12 credits. Check the subjects offered on QUT course selection page. Pay special attention to which semester the course is offered during. "Semester 1" is the U.S. version of Spring semester, while "Semester 2" is the U.S. version of Fall semester.

All students must purchase the Overseas Student Health Cover through QUT or independently. The cost of this insurance is approximately AUD$250 per semester. In addition, students are required to enroll in CISI health insurance through UofSC. The cost of roughly $31/month will be assessed to your student account.

Global QUT provides personal accommodation assistance to all international students. Students can utilize QUT Accommodation Services, or go through a private accommodation provider.

The Australian academic calendar begins in February, with the first semester running from mid-February to late-June. The second semester commences in late-July and runs through the end of November.

The Study Abroad Orientation session is compulsory for Study Abroad students and a specific orientation for Study Abroad and Inbound Exchange students takes place one week prior to the commencement of classes. During O week, QUT's campuses are buzzing with student clubs, food stalls, lice entertainment, social activities, and development opportunities. In addition, QUT Global hosts a Welcome Party for all international students.
