UofSC's exchange program at ESSEC Business School is designed to expose American students to French life and culture and international business practices. Since its founding in 1913, ESSEC has become one of Europe's top management schools, while remaining true to ESSEC's unique calling of promoting ethics and openness to the world.

The program is located at the Cergy campus of ESSEC, about 35 minutes from central Paris by train. The Cergy campus offers all the facilities students need for their education and career development, including lecture halls equipped with videoconference systems, libraries with the latest digital technology, audiovisual rooms, language labs and a trading room.

Cost: UofSC resident tuition rates + in-country costs

Requirements: junior standing; International Business major

Students should expect to pay approximately 200€ for the national healthcare, approximately 100€ per semester for textbooks and supplies, approximately 100€ per month on public transportation, and approximately 50€ per week on groceries. Entertainment costs will vary by student.

Students typically earn 24-30 ECTS credit hours per semester, which are equivalent to 12-15 credits at UofSC. Students at ESSEC have the opportunity for individual travel. In addition, the BDE Student Society organizes welcome activities during the orientation session and arranges excursions and social events throughout the semester.

Per university policy, all UofSC students will be charged emergency medical, evacuation and repatriation insurance for their time abroad. Contact the Education Abroad Office for more details.

ESSEC can accommodate students in one of three off-campus residences that are owned and run by the Groupe ESSEC. Students should expect to pay between 540€ to 710€ for a double room a month for rent in one of these residences. These prices are revised annually in August.

In the spring, students arrive at the end of February and take their exams mid-June.

ESSEC holds a mandatory orientation session for all incoming exchange students which takes place approximately 2-3 days prior to the spring semester.

Students who attend ESSEC for a semester are required to register with Campus France and must apply in person at a Global VFS office.
