We require that you maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher, which is tracked by our office at the end of each semester.
Attending college is full of opportunities to grow, and this is rarely done without taking a risk or facing some kind of obstacle. By showing us your personal challenge, you'll be identifying these moments and adding them to your saga. Take on a new skill, overcome a fear and test your limits!
Due to the university's response to COVID-19, we are no longer requiring that students submit a Community Impact requirement this spring.
We are still offering socially-distanced opportunities to serve throughout April, so please visit our web calendar for more information!
We are also no longer requiring Capstone Consultations this spring, but we still encourage that you reach out to your Consultant! They are still available as a resource. Freshmen can still schedule an appointment at any point during the semester, and sophomores can similarly reach out to their Consultant via email to find a time.
We require you to enroll in a University 101 section during your first semester at UofSC, preferably a section created specifically for Capstone Scholars. Certain majors might be required to take a special section or alternate course in place of UNIV101 (e.g. Engineering majors, Teaching Fellows, & nursing students), for which we make an exception.
Capstone Scholars must also have a university scholarship in order to be in our program. Please note that these scholarships are granted and revoked independently of our office, and more information about your standing with a scholarship can be found through the office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.
First years, if you were unable to connect with your consultant last fall, please take the time to watch our instructional video and pass the quiz below by January 31st. Of course, if you have further questions for us, please feel free to contact our front desk.
