We keep track of these each semester to see how you have been engaging with the university.
We ask that you come to spend time with our office in one of two ways:
- Take part in a Capstone Consultation. These are one-on-one meetings you schedule with your consultant, a staff member in our office who can hear how your semester has been going, talk about goals you might have, and connect you with other resources on campus.
- Attend one of our official Capstone events that happen throughout the semester. All of our official events can be found on our calendar.
You must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher, which is tracked by our office at the end of each semester.
Attending college is full of opportunities to grow, and this is rarely done without taking a risk or facing some kind of obstacle. By showing us your personal challenge, you'll be identifying these moments and adding them to your saga. Take on a new skill, overcome a fear and test your limits!
We require you to enroll in a University 101 section during your first semester at UofSC, preferably a section created specifically for Capstone Scholars. Certain majors might be required to take a special section or alternate course in place of UNIV101 (e.g. Engineering majors, Teaching Fellows, & nursing students), for which we make an exception.
Capstone Scholars must also have a university scholarship in order to be in our program. Please note that these scholarships are granted and revoked independently of our office, and more information about your standing with a scholarship can be found through the office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.
