Volunteer with WWBI

The Women’s Well-Being Initiative is dedicated to advancing the comfort, welfare, and success of women and children across the Midlands. We do this by providing quality arts and engagement experiences that enhance social and community development and cultivate lifelong enrichment opportunities for all ages on a year-round basis. The successful operation of our program relies on the support of the University and Columbia-area community, but also the dedicated work of undergraduate and graduate volunteers who provide year-round support to WWBI and its programs. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds, with a diverse set of skills, interests, and experience levels. Volunteer opportunities for students include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with the Arts and Digital Media workshops
  • Planning our annual art show at Stormwater Studios
  • Facilitating evening art classes at Hannah House
  • Participating in Community Advisory Board meetings
  • Organizing our showcase at Discovery Day

Additionally, WWBI considers volunteer and partnership applications from university faculty and staff, as well as those unaffiliated with USC, including Columbia-area businesses and organizations. If you would like to join our team and support our Midlands community, you may fill out the form on this page. For further inquiries about the nature of our volunteer or partnership opportunities, you may email the program director, Dr. Olga Ivashkevich, at ivashkev@mailbox.sc.edu.
