McMaster Gallery is dedicated to promoting visual art as a tool and a channel for education within the university and the community. The gallery hosts rotating exhibitions and programming that examine cultural and social contexts, challenge contemporary perceptions of art making and provide a framework for intellectual and creative inquiry. The gallery is free and open to the public and the hours are Monday - Friday 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (closed weekends and all university holidays).

The Passage Gallery was created as an exhibition space for the work of students in the School of Visual Art & Design. The space is student-run and organized, and hosts a full schedule of exhibitions each semester, from curated group shows to individual B.F.A. thesis shows. Students are encouraged to experiment with exhibition design and installation, and to use the Passage Gallery as a laboratory for developing new ideas.
The SVAD Studio is where bright thoughts and ideas are communicated to listeners and visitors during workshops, exhibitions, and talks. Through the SVAD Studio, we run an Artist Residency Program and give participants the necessary space to pursue new concepts and designs. The SVAD Studio connects our students and visitors to the professional artists who work in the 10 other studios.
