Scholarships

We are pleased to offer our undergraduate students several scholarship opportunities that are available due to the generosity of a number of benefactors.

Available Scholarships

About: This scholarship was established in honor of Michael P. Arthur. The award is given to eligible students based on financial need and academic merit.

Award: $500 for the 2026–2027 academic year.

Eligibility:

  • Political Science or International Studies majors
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Recipients may receive this award only once (non-renewable)

About: This scholarship was established in honor of Mary Anne Fitzpatrick, inaugural dean of the combined College of Arts & Sciences. The award is given based on financial need and academic merit.

Award: $2,500 for the 2026–2027 academic year.

Eligibility:

  • Political Science majors
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 in political science courses and/or cumulative GPA
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Recipients may receive this award only once (non-renewable)

About: This scholarship honors T. Moffatt Burriss, a decorated World War II veteran from South Carolina. The award recognizes students based on financial need and academic merit.

Award: $2,500 for the 2026–2027 academic year.

Eligibility:

  • Political Science or International Studies majors
  • Freshman during the 2025–2026 academic year
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Returning as a full-time student for the Fall 2026 semester

Priority Consideration:

  • First priority: Students from Marlboro Academy (Bennettsville, SC)
  • Second priority: Students from Oakridge School (Arlington, Texas)
  • If no students from those schools apply, the scholarship may be awarded to a sophomore or junior who meets the criteria.

This award may be renewable if the recipient maintains a 3.0 GPA.

About: This scholarship was established in honor of Sara Najjar-Wilson. The award is given based on financial need and academic merit.

Award: $1,500 for the 2026–2027 academic year (3 awards available).

Eligibility:

  • International Studies majors in the Department of Political Science
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 in major courses and/or cumulative GPA
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Recipients may receive this award only once (non-renewable)
