The Arnold School of Public Health is seeking nominations for its annual alumni awards that will be presented at the 2019 Hooding Ceremony.
About the Award
Mr. Arnold was an influential business leader whose steadfast commitment to a healthier South Carolina lives on in the important work of talented alumni, faculty, staff, and students. Gerry Sue Arnold is a wife, mother, grandmother, a community volunteer, and also a tireless advocate for a healthier South Carolina.
On November 21, 2000, the School of Public Health at the University of South Carolina was named for Norman J. Arnold. Thanks to a generous endowment from Norman and his wife, Gerry Sue, the Arnold School is better able to serve its students, the citizens of the state, as well as to promote the health of people.
Award Criteria
The Gerry Sue Arnold Alumni Award is open to all alumni who graduated in 2009 or later. Alumni whose work has both made a difference to the profession and in the health of an identified community or population are eligible for this award.
The Norman J. Arnold Alumni Medal is open to all alumni who graduated in 2008 or earlier. Eligible alumni should demonstrate work that has had both a positive impact on the profession and on the health of an identified community or population and has brought recognition to the Arnold School of Public Health.
