Dean Chandler has reserved the Paw Paw Shelter at Saluda Shoals Park in Irmo for Saturday, April 29th. All faculty, staff, and students are invited to attend. DSAC, the Dean's Office, and the Office of Graduate Student Services will be selling tickets at $6.00 each. Tickets will be collected at meal-time.
You may arrive any time after 4:00 pm to enjoy the activities at the park. Indicate you are attending the Arnold School of Public Health event and the parking fee will be waived. Horseshoes and volleyball will be set-up near the shelter. There is a playground area and a splash pad. "Saluda Splash" will be open for children with a charge of $3.00 and wristbands may be purchased at the entrance gate.
Be advised that food and drinks will not be served by the caterer until 6:00 pm (must have ticket to eat), so bring sufficient snacks/beverages of choice if you choose to arrive early. Tea and lemonade will be served with dinner.
Items you may want to bring with you: folding chairs, picnic blanket, towels and change of clothes for children who use the splash pad, sun screen, sunglasses, bug spray, music (nothing obscene), cooler with snacks and beverages, and outdoor items such as frisbees or footballs.
Dinner will be served in the Paw Paw Shelter at 6:00 pm.
Please remember to pick-up after yourself before you leave – trash containers are located throughout the park and a few trash bags will be available at the shelter. The event will end at 8:00 pm.
The last day to purchase tickets will be April 21, 2017.
We hope everyone looks forward to a fun afternoon and evening!
