Giving at South Carolina

SPURS

Students Promoting the University's Reach for Success

As a student at the University of South Carolina, you benefit every day from the philanthropy of donors in some way. But did you know that you, too, have the power to help improve the university, increase giving and even begin to leave your own mark before you graduate? In many ways, philanthropy starts with you!

Annual Giving and SPURS

Every year, Carolina’s loyal alumni, parents, students, and faculty and staff members make annual gifts to support the university. Annual gifts support the university’s most critical needs, fillings the gaps that other sources, like state funding and tuition, do not cover. SPURS, Students Promoting the University's Reach for Success, is Carolina's student philanthropy program. SPURS members educate fellow students about the importance and impact of private giving.

It's easy to get involved with SPURS at events like Donor Appreciation Day, Give 4 Garnet and Grateful 4 Garnet, where you can stop by and write a thank-you note to one of USC's generous donors.

How You Can Help

If you'd like to get more involved, become a SPURS leader! As a SPURS leader, you will help spread the word about philanthropy, ensuring that current and future Carolina students continue to have the programs and funding that make their experiences at USC both valuable and extraordinary.
