Chase Kasper

Deputy Director

Chase Kasper serves as Deputy Director of the University of South Carolina’s Office of Economic Engagement, where he acts as the office’s principal operational leader. In this role, Kasper helps advance USC’s strategic vision by strengthening partnerships, accelerating innovation and commercialization efforts. He works closely with faculty, students, industry, and public-sector partners to translate research, creativity, and entrepreneurial activity into real-world impact.

Kasper brings extensive experience in higher education administration and economic development, with previous leadership roles at the Clemson University Research Foundation, the University of Southern Mississippi, and Mississippi State University. Across these institutions, he has built a reputation for driving collaboration, improving operational effectiveness, and supporting technology transfer and workforce development initiatives. His work reflects a clear focus on execution—turning strategy into action and ensuring universities play a meaningful role in regional and statewide economic growth.

Tiffany Beverly, J.D.

Associate Director

Tiffany Beverly is an attorney with over 20 years of experience advising start-ups to global corporations on all aspects of business law including contractual best practices, confidentiality, liability, bankruptcy, and intellectual property. Tiffany serves as the Associate Director of the TCO. She oversees the University’s patent portfolio, supervises the filing and prosecution of patent applications, and advises faculty on intellectual property matters. Tiffany negotiates contracts for USC, including confidentiality agreements, data use agreements, property leases, and intellectual property agreements.

Lacie Cottrill

Technology Associate

Lacie Cottrill serves as a Technology Associate in the University of South Carolina’s Office of Technology Commercialization. She supports the management of the University’s intellectual property portfolio by reviewing invention disclosures, maintaining IP data, and coordinating with innovators throughout the commercialization process. Lacie assists with licensing activities, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations. She is responsible for iEdison reporting and helps ensure the University meets federal compliance requirements related to funded research. Lacie holds a Master of Science in Data & Communication and brings experience in data management and higher education operations.
