Career Preparation

The next generation of jobs requires next-level skills. The Division of Student Affairs and Academic Support helps students develop the tools and gain the knowledge and experience they need for successful lifelong career management.

Career Center

At the Career Center, students will find help exploring majors and careers; resume writing and interviewing tips; internship and job listings and everything else they need to launch a career that’s right for them.

Graduate Assistantships

The Graduate Assistant Recruitment Program introduces prospective higher education and student affairs master's candidates to UofSC and opportunities to gain practical experience in student affairs.

Handshake is UofSC’s database of part-time and full-time positions, as well as internship, co-op, graduate assistantship and seasonal positions.

Internships and Co-ops

Internship listings and the Community Internship Program make it easy for students to find internships, externships and co-ops that will confirm their career choices, provide hands-on experience and enhance their resumes.

Job Fairs

Each year, hundreds of employers visit UofSC’s job fairs to recruit students for full-time, part-time, internship and co-op positions.

Pre-Professional Advising

Pre-Professional Advising staff members help students who intend to go medical, law and health-related professional schools get the right courses and experiences that prepare them for the application process and their future studies.

Student Employees

UofSC offers leadership coaching, workshops, consultations and a professional development program for students with jobs – on or off campus – to help them connect their current work experiences to their future career goals.

At the University Testing Center, students can take tests required for teaching certification and graduate or professional school admission.
