Nurse Corps Scholarship Program
The NURSE Corps Scholarship Program provides nursing students with financial support in exchange for commitment to serve at least two years in a qualifying NURSE Corps site. As a condition of acceptance into this program, you must work at a Critical Shortage Facility (CSF) when you graduate. The deadline for the Nurse Corps Scholarship Program is in the spring.
To be eligible, you must:
- Be a United States citizen (born or naturalized), a national, or a lawful permanent resident
- Be enrolled—or accepted for enrollment—in a professional nursing degree program at an accredited school of nursing in the U.S.
- Begin classes no later than September 30
- Have no federal judgment liens
- Have no existing service commitment
- Not be overdue on a federal debt
The exact amount provided is left up to the program but in general, your tuition, fees, and other educational costs will be paid.
National Health Service Corps Scholarship Program
The National Health Service Corps Scholarship Program pays tuition, fees and other educational costs and provides a stipend in exchange for a commitment to work two years at an approved NHSC site. The deadline for this program is in the spring.
You must work in one of these health disciplines:
- Physician
- Dentist
- Nurse Practitioner
- Nurse Midwife
- Physician Assistant
Native Hawaiian Health Scholarship Program (NHHSP)
The Native Hawaiian Health Scholarship Program provides scholarships to Native Hawaiians pursuing careers in primary and behavioral health disciplines. The program pays tuition, provides a monthly stipend, and covers related school costs. Students must serve in a medically underserved area within the state of Hawaii immediately after graduation/licensure for every year of funding that the student receives with a minimum of 2 years and a maximum of 4 years.
