A native of Charleston, South Carolina, Chef Kyle attended The Culinary Institute Of Charleston and has worked in some of the finest restaurants in Charleston. Chef Kyle draws much of his inspiration from the many flavors and ingredients native to the Southern United States. With over fifteen years of experience in various facets of culinary execution and management, Chef Kyle continues to push himself by studying new growing techniques, searching for new ingredients and learning new ways to use them. Chef Kyle has received recognition both locally and nationally for his creativity and attention to detail.
What is your favorite memory associated with food?
My favorite food memory is working in my grandparents garden. We would pick all different kinds of vegetables and either can them to use later in the year or make dinner with them that night.
What advice do you have for anyone learning to cook for themselves?
Always cook what you like to eat and keep it fun.
What is a fun fact that the students should know about you?
I started going to weekend cooking classes at Johnson and Wales University when I was seven years old.
