My Moore School

Faculty and Staff Resources

The current 24-hour turnaround for copy requests remains in place and the process is straightforward. Faculty are asked to either bring copy requests to the support center (Carolina Coliseum Room 120) or email copy requests to printing@moore.sc.edu. This will allow for more than one person to receive the request to ensure it is addressed in a timely fashion.

When dropping off (or emailing) a copy request, faculty will be asked if they prefer to pick up their copy job or have it delivered. If delivery is desired, the faculty member will be asked to provide contact information.

If a faculty member has a preferred time for delivery, he or she should inform the support center personnel at that time the request is made (in person or via email) or by contacting the support center at a later time to schedule delivery. The daily delivery times are 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

If the faculty member is not available to receive delivery at the desired time, he or she may pick up the copy request at the support center. Faculty will always be able to pick up copy jobs in the support center between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

First Year Student Information Technology – Computer Recommendations

It is recommended that students enrolled in the Moore School use a Windows-based computer. Although a Mac computer can be used, workarounds will be needed to complete assignments. Students will have a better experience using a Windows-based computer. There will be multiple business courses and course-specific projects that will not be compatible with the Mac operating system. If a student chooses to purchase a Mac, he/she should be prepared to use a Windows computer for some courses. Additional help is provided through the Carolina Tech Zone.

Minimum recommendations for computers:
Operating System: Windows 10/11 home or Pro version
Processor: 3.5GHz AMD A6, AMD Ryzen 7 or Intel i5/i7 processor
Memory: 16 gigs of ram
Storage: 512 gig storage
Protection: Extended Warranty
Wireless: 802.11 a/b/g/n
Wired: Gigabit Ethernet

Microsoft Office 365 is provided free to all enrolled students. Anti-virus software is also available if needed. Students may visit the Carolina Tech Zone for assistance or visit the IT Knowledge Base and search for Install O365 for instructions. The University of South Carolina has a partnership with Dell that gives students the opportunity to purchase computers, printers, and accessories at educational discounts. Use the USC Member ID US126277047 to receive your discount.

The Office of Special Events must be notified in advance of any Moore School event including external guest speakers. This applies to both in-person and virtual events held on- or off-campus.

All Moore School faculty and staff who wish to order promotional giveaways for guests or students are required to work with MarCom.
