Associate Professor Seth Stoughton testified as an expert witness in the Chauvin trial on Monday, April 12th. Mr. Stoughton is a professor in the School of Law and serves as an affiliate faculty member in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice. He is a former police officer and use of force expert. During his testimony, he explained that the actions by officers involved in George Floyd's killing were "unreasonable, excessive, and contary to generally accepted police practices."
