Matt Irvin shared an overview of the work he and his colleagues are doing for rural STEM education across the state of South Carolina at the annual board meeting of the South Carolina's Coalition of Mathematics and Science. This includes partnering with collaborators across the USC Columbia campus (e.g., College of Education, School of Medicine, College of Engineering and Computing, College of Pharmacy, College of Arts and Sciences), and Clemson University to submit grants that have sought to bring approximately $100 million in federal funds to the state.
