AWAKE Health Sciences Virtual Reality (HSVR)
This program helps rural students build an awareness of health science careers that they could pursue in specific STEM fields.
Virtual reality simulations show students what it might be like to work in health care for schools where a hospital visit isn't an available opportunity.
This real-world application of our research encourages rural students to get interested in careers that address local health issues that may impact their family, friends and community—especially issues common in rural areas like diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
