Background

Yan Dong is a Distinguished Moore Fellow and a Professor of Management Science. Before he joined the Moore School, he also taught at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland and the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. He holds a Ph.D. in Supply Chain and Operations Management from the University of Maryland, and he worked as a supply chain management consultant for IBM and the World Bank. 

Professor Dong’s primary research interest is supply chain management, with a focus on supply chain governance, relationship, and technology. His more recent work studies mobile technologies and mobile money, sustainable operations, and global supply chains issues. His work has appeared in Management Science, Manufacturing, Services, Operations Management, Marketing Science, Information Systems Research, Production and Operations Management, Journal of Operations Management, and Decision Sciences. He is a senior editor for Production and Operations Management and an associate editor for Journal of Operations Management.
