What drew you to the field of medicine?

I love solving problems, and medicine is problem solving at the elite level. Growing up I always saw myself working in a scientific field, and medicine is the perfect combination of serving others and learning about the advances in science. Additionally, through shadowing interpreters and seeing the need for bilingual physicians in the hospital, I realized how I could use my Spanish studies to help facilitate communication in the healthcare field. 

What are your future plans?

I am excited to be a part of this unique cohort of students who have the opportunity to study together and learn about medicine over the next seven years. Currently, I am interested in clinical pathology, oncology, and research to diagnose and study illnesses and their treatments. Throughout the next stage of my career as a student, I aspire to deepen my knowledge of biology and medicine to foster my ability to serve others through medicine.
