Student Award Winners

National Fellowships

National fellowships provide external recognition for the amazing things that Honors College students do, and offer a chance to reflect on experiences you’ve had on campus and beyond, as well as think about your future goals.

National Fellowship Advisement

National fellowship advisement is provided to Honors College students by the Office of Fellowships and Scholar Programs. OFSP provides essay reviews, reflective conversations, and interview practice for specific national competitions, as well as pairing students with faculty mentors. These scholarships and fellowships include the Fulbright, Goldwater, Marshall, Madison, National Science Foundation, Rhodes, Truman, Udall, and Hollings, among others.

Honors College students can schedule an appointment to meet with a national fellowship advisor and learn how to apply for a national fellowship that fits your academic interests and career goals. You can also check out the INFO database to investigate national fellowship opportunities that match your interests.

Before the office was established, the University averaged 2.5 national scholarship winners per year; in the last five years, we now average over 50 awards per year. Carolina students and recent alumni have won 845 national awards totaling more than $26 million for academic study. An average of 60 percent of those awards has been won by honors students. While our ultimate goal is to see Honor College students earn these prestigious scholarships and fellowships, the preparation process in and of itself enhances and focuses students’ academic, personal and career goals.

OFSP is located on the Horseshoe, on the 3rd Floor of DeSaussure. We look forward to hearing from you!
