Private Swim Lessons FAQ's

You can find some of our most commonly asked questions below! Please reach out  to aquatics@mailbox.sc.edu if you have any additional questions.

Anyone affiliated with USC (students, facility, staff and alumni) can participate in private swim lessons.

  • For individuals with a Campus Recreation membership, each lesson package will cost $140.
  • For individuals without a Campus Recreation membership, each lesson package will cost $190.

Please review our membership options here.

Each lesson package will consist of 5, 30-minute one-on-one lessons with a certified Water Safety Instructor. These lessons are customized to fit the needs and goals of each participant.

Participants will be matched with an instructor based on their desired goals/outcomes of the lessons, as well as the availability of the instructors.

It is up to the instructor and the participant to find mutually agreeable times to meet within the provided availability.

Participants must give a 24-hour notice to the aquatics program by contacting their respective instructor. If a 24-hour notice is not given, the swim lesson will be forfeited and may not be rescheduled or refunded. Only one swim lesson per package will be rescheduled. If multiple lessons need to be rescheduled (due to weather or sickness), it is not guaranteed that all lessons will be rescheduled due to limited availability.

Participants that are going to be late must contact their respective instructor. If the participant arrives late, the lesson time will not be extended. If no participants arrive, the instructor will only wait 15 minutes from the start of the swim lesson time before the session is canceled. Refunds will not be issued for lessons canceled due to late arrival.

Participants who do not show for their lesson and do not give 24-hour notice of their absence will forfeit the lesson. The no show lessons will not be rescheduled or refunded.

Full or partial refunds may be given on a case-by-case basis. All refunds are at the discretion of the Campus Recreation staff and are not guaranteed. Lessons are non-transferable.

Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
